Sagashus Levingston
Dr. Sagashus Levingston is a writer, speaker, educator, and founder of Infamous Mothers®. She holds a PhD in Literature and uses story, writing, and lived experience to explore how women make and remake their lives. Her work sits at the intersection of race, gender, motherhood, leadership, healing, and economic possibility. She is the author of A Pot to Piss In, a memoir about relationships, power, poverty, possibility, and the value of owning our stories. Through Infamous Mothers, she creates spaces where women can examine what they have inherited, reclaim what belongs to them, and imagine lives beyond the stories and systems that have attempted to define them. A mother of six, Dr. Levingston believes writing is more than a way to document who we have been—it can be one of the ways we participate in becoming who we are.

Our stories are some of the most valuable things we own—and some of the most expensive. The stories we inherit, the stories told about us, and the stories we tell ourselves shape how we see ourselves, what we believe is possible, and how we move through the world.
Drawing from her memoir, A Pot to Piss In, Dr. Sagashus Levingston will lead participants through storytelling, writing, reflection, and conversation to explore the stories they carry and what those stories have cost, protected, and made possible.
Together, we will use writing as a practice of Repair—not to erase what happened, but to ask what else is true, reclaim what belongs to us, and reimagine what comes next.
