9:00 AM - Noon
Plenary Facilitated Institute

Andrea Ritchie

We are honored to welcome Andrea Ritchie, author of Practicing New Worlds: Abolition and Emergent Strategies and Invisible No More: Police Violence Against Black Women and Women of Color, as our in-person keynote speaker.

Ritchie brings three decades of experience as a Black lesbian immigrant survivor, attorney, and organizer who has created waves of change around the policing and criminalization of Black women, girls, trans, and gender nonconforming people.

Ritchie will facilitate a plenary experience for all in-person attendees exploring abolitionist and emergent strategies rooted in long traditions of resistance and resilience, helping us embody new possibilities in the midst of the ongoing catastrophes of racial capitalism. In-person Summit attendees will have the opportunity to practice with Ritchie to set our collective compass toward liberatory ways of being that create the conditions for safety, accountability, and justice.

Pop-Up of BIPOC Creatives & Justice Initiatives (Noon - 5:00 PM)

For the past several years, the Racial Justice Summit has created space for local BIPOC creatives and justice initiatives to share their work, amplify their missions, and connect with our broader community.

We are honored to continue this tradition by welcoming an inspiring group of BIPOC Creatives and Justice Initiatives to this year's Pop-Up during our in-person Summit experience. Explore local artists, organizations, and community leaders whose work is advancing justice, creativity, and collective liberation.

Featured participants will be announced soon.
