Sara Alvarado
Sara Alvarado is a writer, speaker, and unapologetic advocate for racial justice in real estate. She is the co-creator of Own It: Building Black Wealth, a groundbreaking initiative to increase generational wealth in Black and brown communities through homeownership. The author of Dreaming in Spanish, the Racial Justice Toolkit for Real Estate Professionals, and numerous essays, Sara brings both personal storytelling and systems-level vision to her work. Together with her husband, Carlos, she co-founded Alvarado Group, Compass Real Estate. As a white woman in a multicultural family and multiracial workspaces, she is committed to naming and challenging the harm of whiteness as part of her own liberation journey. She currently serves on the boards of Centro Hispano and All Things Alzheimer’s, and has a long history of community leadership. Sara is a lover of love, spirit, dance, and adventure (always with the music turned up). She finds joy in traveling, family fun, challenging the status quo, and writing her way into deeper truths.
