Brian McInnes

Brian McInnes/ Waabishki-makwa is a professor of Environmental Humanities - American Indian Studies at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. A member of the Ojibwe and Potawatomi nations, Brian has a deep interest in the preservation of Indigenous cultures and languages and is an accomplished speaker, actor, and writer in English and Ojibwe. He is an expert on P-12 Indigenous Education policy and practice, Great Lakes religions and spiritual practices, and culture-based land stewardship. Brian has served as the producer for the Sacred Wisdom Sacred Earth project since 2023.
